Negotiations Watch: Commercials – Less Than 48 Hours to Go
Regulars here know the commercials contract talks are going down to the wire, moving towards a Tuesday midnight expiration. Variety’s discovered it.
There report is consistent with everything else we’ve heard. Slow, difficult bargaining, with some progress. Everyone on the union side working well together.
One snarky line in the Variety story:
“SAG has often allowed contracts to expire — which means that performers continue to work under the terms and conditions of the existing deal, minus protection from a management lockout and without a grievance procedure.”
Good. Get it done then GET TV/THEATRICAL DONE.
Amen!
oh…how great negotiating when the world is laughing at you….unemployment is at 12 % idiots!!!!!!!!!
movies ………when do we start?
lalala….what are the SAG ADULTS on the new team supposed to do? let ALL contracts go by the wayside? We work in commercials too and that work many times get us our health care so we can pursue movie/tv work….don’t bitch at us about MF’s pearl harbor…
