Former SAG VP Frank Aletter

Â
It is with deep regret that we note that Frank Aletter has passed away. Frank was extremely dedicated to the issues affecting performers and served as a National Board member in Los Angeles for 23 years (1971 through 1992), and as SAG Vice President in 1987. His memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 13th at 4:00 p.m. at Theatre West, 3333 Cahuenga Blvd, parallel to the 101, just north of Barham Blvd. Â
Frank was perhaps best known to the public as a sitcom star of the 1960s, but his career – over four decades – saw him triumph in a wide range of roles on television and the Broadway stage. He passed away Wednesday, at age 83, after a long battle with cancer.
In a strange coincidence of timing, KDOC yesterday showed a rerun of the Perry Mason episode entitled “The Case of the Skeleton’s Closet” (1963) with Frank Aletter in a leading role (he dun it, among other things).
