Hello Again… (updated – again)
OK, this isn’t the way we’re supposed to look. And the past four days have been anything but fun here in SAGWatch land.Â
We had a bizarre database crash – that’s what stopped you from commenting since Sunday morning, and have only this morning managed to rebuild and restore almost all the content. The only content we can find missing is a few of Voiceguy’s charts in his Commercials Contract posts. But we did lose all the “subscription” data – so if you had signed up to receive posts automatically, you’ll need to do that again.
Update: We know that a lot of comments disappeared (this afternoon!) from old posts. We have them as part of a huge (100 mb+) back up file and will be restoring them as time permits. 2nd Update: We’re aware of some silly(ok flat out bizarre) comments made by a couple of Membership First conspiracy theorists who apparently can’t read any better than they understand database errors…or negotiate contracts. Those of you who tried to comment and got the database error know what we’re talking about. What they’re talking about? We’re looking for someone to translate it from the native psychotic.
We’re sorry for the incovenience, and will be working to make the site look nicer again…but we hope we’re back operating and will try to catch up on developments over the past four days.
Send in those Commercials Contract ballots!
WELCOME BACK!!!!!
I was afraid Agent86′d and his best friend, Esquire Gunn, dropped in unannounced!!!
In an absolute testament to your reach, about 5 people I don’t know emailed ME (after seeing a lot of my posts) to ask if I knew what was going on!!
See how loved you are?

Admin. Response – Our thanks to you and everyone else who wrote. This has NOT been fun. I’ll spare you most of the tech talk, but we’ve had to manually go through and prune about 250,000 lines of code to restore the site. That’s what took us most of the past four days.
Word on the street is MM and a band of rogue SAG-eligible extras are behind this cybercrime. They surrounded the server until it finally crashed.
holy cow. Is it possible that “someone” may have purposely forced the site to crash as AFTRA INFORMER alledges?
It seems that several comments were lost as well under the Steve Diamond topic and the topic “Rosenberg, McCord…etc should they resign” There are zero comments under both topics.
Good luck guys. We will stick with you through this mess. They can hit you but they can’t take you down!!

Admin. Comment – We love a good conspiracy yarn, but really don’t think it was anything more than a naturally occurring technical problem at our service provider.
An astounding level of commitment. Thanks for all your hard work.
I’m so glad to have you back. Marisa’s right–I’ll be here through thick and thin as will so many others. I hadn’t realized just how much I enjoyed and counted on your posts until they were gone. My day just got lots better! Thanks.
Thanks for sticking it out through this cyber-crisis.
Sorry you guys have had trouble…I’m not much on tech stuff, but I am retired…so, if I can help in any way, please let me know

Nice to see you back. I too was speculating whether Mulhern found his $500 man.
These website tech issues illustrate a point I was trying to make a few weeks back. You can be the greatest actors in the world or the greatest online kibitzers, dropping pearls in every post. But without a solid structure in place (technically, financially, legally, etc.) to support your “arena”, it’s all for naught.
The people who run your IT at SAG headquarters, the studios, the production companies, etc. keep the infrastructure flowing. It’s all part of the process. Yeah, I know I’m not saying anything you don’t already know. But sometimes actors (less here at SAGWatch than elsewhere) reduce it all to “misued talent vs. greedy suits”.
So thumbs up to the nameless SAGWatch tech team for doing whatever they’re doing (probably gratis). I’ll lay off my filter-fussin’ for a spell.

“The people who run your IT at SAG headquarters”,
What? Don’t know what you are trying to say? Are you saying that SAGWATCH is run by SAG?
Can you be more clear? Or am I mistaken here.

Thats OK, I don’t look the way i’m supposed too either!
Marisa, I was just making a general comment about how IT (information technology) is important from blogs (SAGWatch.net) to orgs (SAG) and that whoever was toiling away annonymously behind the scenes needed a shout out.
It’s my understanding that this site has no formal affiliation with SAG.
Cruiser…OOOHHH my bad. Man I was confused!
I read it again, and see that you meant “your” as saying “ones” or “a person’s”
Sorry, I didn’t want to jump to a conclusion so that’s why i asked you. Whew!

Sometimes I wish this site had sound.
I know all too well the frustrations of crashed computers….and thank you for your commitment, and time, in keeping this forum alive!
Tee-hee, Cruiser
Okay–this layout is a little easier on the eyes. And like to see the posters name at the top and the larger type is good.
Glad you’re back. Missed you while you were away.
