Happy Hollywood Board Meeting Night!

Yes, it’s once again time for those merry mischief makers of Membership First to get together with their sworn enemies, the rest of the union, for a Hollywood Board meeting. Since last time around the Membership First raiding resolution, passed by the Hollywood Board, led to what may still be a major financial hit to SAG’s treasury, and since it’s only become more complicated since then, we’re wondering what – if anything – Anne Marie Johnson will have to say to the board about her conduct.

And we can’t help but wonder what Alan Rosenberg will have to say about his candidacy for re-election to a third term as SAG President. If a poll over on Actors Access is any indication, it’s not just over here that people are shaking their heads in disbelief over that one.

We’ll kiss and tell as soon as we get the word on the Hollywood Board…

No reports from that meeting…no more raiding motions?

I’m getting more frequent news updates from Tehran.

Admin. Comment – We’d update more, but we’d have to make it up. We’ve heard nothing from the Hollywood Board meeting last night. This, however, could be good.

However, one tidbit: the blind item is expected to hit around the end of the week. Definitely not today and highly unlikely tomorrow.

I wonder if they sent the “observers” out of the room during the discussion of how much dues dollars their “acquiring” motion (that was so loudly applauded by the peanut gallery) may cost SAG?

I’m not sure why the word “observers” is in quotes up there. Is there a suggestion that the observers were not just interested parties? I am confused by this. I was there. No one was ever sent out of the room. There was nothing but reports, good natured humor, questions, issue concerns (non-partisan).
There was, however, extra pizza leftover that was untouched by the observers (and it was a packed house of guests so one has to wonder: actors + leftovers = wtf?) and delicious cookies. Your dues dollars were well spent by my hunger, so thanks!

Ed. Comment – We’re glad for both the end to your hunger and for your note…and only a little surprised that there were no fancy resolutions. After all, the last one was such a success…
