“Diversity Awareness Month”
Month to Feature Special Events, Release of Diversity Casting ReportsLos Angeles (September 29, 2009) — Screen Actors Guild announced today that it has declared October “Diversity Awareness Month.” For decades, SAG has been a leader in advocating diverse hiring of underrepresented groups, including ethnic minorities, women, seniors, LGBT actors and performers with disabilities in the entertainment industry.
Now, if only we could get the good will that leads to diversity awareness to be applied to internal union politics.
