The syndication business is apparently still hurting, and this year’s NATPE convention in Las Vegas is smaller and less attended than before. The Hollywood Reporter notes that former Disney chief Michael Eisner is there pitching a 150 minute production called “The Booth,” which he says was produced for $250,000.
In an ad posted on the Hollywood Reporter’s site, the SEIU skewers Fox with the story of a security guard at the Fox lot. A key AFTRA committee voted today to recommend to the AFTRA National Board that a small group of elected officers meet with SAG electeds to explore the possibility of bargaining AFTRA’s Exhibit A contract concurrent with SAG’s TV/Theatrical deal. The SAG Awards are tonight, of course. One of the more unusual stories we’ve seen about the event is in the Los Angeles Times, where they have an interactive video tour of the room, showing where all the nominees will be sitting – their chairs marked with headshots on place cards.
